Sub-Inspector Hemant Kumar, a sharp, soft-spoken man from the Lower caste, has built his life brick by brick, defying every label, stereotype, and obstacle thrown at him. Now posted in his own rustic town of Chhand, Hemant is respected for his clear-eyed logic, unwavering morality, and quiet grit. He is married to Garima, -a love marriage that defied the rigid norms of their society. With Garima now heavily pregnant and due to deliver any day, Hemant wishes to take time off and be by her side. But his plans are derailed when a grisly, headless body is discovered in the nearby fields. Soon after, rumors of stolen gold, a missing man, begin to unearth deep, buried tensions. The fragile balance of Chhand is disturbed, and Hemant finds himself reluctantly drawn into the eye of a storm. As Hemant dives deeper into the investigation, he is compelled to work with a team that, while loyal in action, still harbors deep-seated caste biases-some subtle, others stark. His team includes the stern and no-nonsense ASI Balwant Pandey, the defiant Head Constable Motilal Sharma, an upper-caste man who resents taking orders from him, the station's only woman, ASI Vimla Ecka, and Constable Bicchendra Thakur, a goofy localite who speaks only in rustic Chhattisgarhi and clings to his ingrained pride. Hemant finds himself constantly walking a tightrope-balancing the mounting pressure from his superiors, Inspector Dayanand and DSP Pathak, who demand swift results; safeguarding the dignity of his own community, who see him as a beacon of hope; and being there for his wife, whose delivery could happen any moment. As the investigation deepens, the truth leads Hemant to a broken man, Kailash -once innocent, now consumed by vengeance and humiliation, who has spiraled into darkness in a desperate bid for dignity, identity, and justice. The violence that ensues is calculated, symbolic, retributive, but also random. Driven by lore surrounding Chhand's Gram Devta, Hemant begins to question the very idea of what makes a man a ""Janaawar"" (beast). Is it his caste? His rage? His rebellion? Or is it a system that turns humans into monsters by denying them humanity?
